Ellen Degeneres had some serious issues with Mississippi’s new law but threw in some Tesla love as well.

If you’ve got Ellen Degeneres saying she loves what you sell, that’s pretty much gold. Earlier yesterday Ellen Degeneres ended her show by speaking on the controversial Mississippi’s religious freedom law that took effect this week basically allowing businesses the right to deny service to anyone they feel violates their religious rights. And even though the topic is divisive and heated, Ellen always tries her best to pepper in a bit of humor to diffuse the tension.

Towards the end of her monologue, she did mention one particular product that people on both sides of the fence on this particular law can agree they love. And that product is the Tesla Model 3. How? Check out the whole monologue below and let us know what you think about Ellen’s endorsement in the comments below.

According to Ellen,

“We need to remember that we are more similar than we are different, and we all want the same thing; love, acceptance, kindness, and I want one of those new Teslas (Model 3.)”

At which point pretty much everyone in the audience applauded.

Whether or not you agree with that opinion, the numbers do speak for themselves. Only hours ago Elon Musk confirmed that in the last week they’ve already received 325,000 pre-orders for the new car or over a $14 Billion cash infusion. That is some major demand.

The Tesla Model 3 became one of the most popular mass-produced electric vehicles that never existed (as production has not yet started.) List price for this electric wonder starts at $35,000. For that you get over 200 miles of range and the ability to hit 60 MPH in less than six seconds. According to Musk, “you won’t find another car with this many features at that price.” Needless to say, it’ll be full of value.

And you can take Ellen Degeneres’s words to the bank. We already know that Ellen is a bonafide gearhead. She’s been spotted numerous times hooning it around L.A. in various European exotics; a Ferrari California and Porsche Targa 4S to name a few.
