Back To The Future Trilogy: Top 30 Vehicles

#17-1989 Ford Probe Future Concept
Appeared in: Back to the Future II
The 1989 Ford Probe was an apt choice to include in the film as the actual Ford Probe was just a concept car at the time slated to be sold to the public in early 1990. We encounter one of many Ford Probes seen in BTTF2 when Marty’s 1985 self-meets up with Doc Brown and his DeLorean outside of 80’s cafe. While Biff Tannen is walking outside of the cafe, Marty McFly Jr. runs into Biff and almost gets run over by a Ford Probe as he crosses the street.
Universal Studios took a concept Ford Probe, extended the front windshield over the hood by placing a faux-replacement, added a giant black lip spoiler and side skirts with wheel covers out back and sprayed the entire Ford Probe a Matte black. Coincidentally, they included a futuristic version of the 1987 Ford Mustang, which the Ford Probe was once considered as a replacement for.
Although no one seems to know what happened to this particular 2015 Ford Probe, another White and Blue Ford Probe that was used in BTTF2 still has a home at Universal’s “Picture Cars” department at Universal Studios Hollywood. Although it used to be part of the back lot tour, it has since been removed.
