Nissan just announced earlier yesterday (June. 25, 2015) that they’ve cooked up a special edition 2016 Nissan Maxima just for the 2015 BET Experience. It’s called SR Midnight and it takes the regular Maxima that debuted earlier this year and adds a bit of sportiness via some factory add-ons. The Midnight package includes a Super Black exterior paint (already available on regular Maximas), special aero kit with front spoiler, rear diffuser and side skirts, splash guards and special 19-inch alloy rims exclusive to the SR Midnight package.

"BET is rolling out the red carpet in a big way during the BET Awards weekend. The BET Experience at L.A. Live will bring together thousands of music lovers for a 3-day, jam-packed entertainment fest that will feature some of the world’s best music performers. There will also be a FREE Fan Fest, featuring the BET and Centric pavilions, Celebrity Basketball Game, Comedy, Seminars, BET Grammy Museum exhibit and the hottest industry parties. It’s a weekend you don’t want to miss."

The SR is already the sportiest Nissan Maxima you can buy and throws on a sport-tuned suspension, column- mounted paddle shifters and optional summer tires. In addition, the SR has nixed the sunroof for lower overall body weight and rigidity and includes a chassis damper to stop the stiffness from being transmitted into the cockpit and through the steering wheel.

Out of all the colors that really brings some gravitas to the 2016 Nissan Maxima, Forged Bronze and Super Black take the bill. Add-on a bit of sporty aero all around, and you have one good looking four-door sports car that just might sway some cross shoppers looking at more premium vehicles. If you’re one of those long-term car owners that’s in the market for a brand new car and want something sporty, it would behoove you to check out the 2016 Nissan Maxima and throw on the Midnight package on top of the available SR.

The 2016 Nissan Maxima utilizes Nissan’s tried and tested VQ series 3.5 V6 good for 300 HP and 261 lbs-ft of torque. In production in various degrees since 1994 and on Ward’s Top 10 engines from 2002-2007, there’s a reason that Nissan keeps producing this V6 and you’ll be well assured if you pick up one of these four-door sports cars that you’ll be getting the pinnacle of V6 engine technology as far as Nissan’s VQ series goes.
