This Wide Body Honda Civic Type R By M&M Honda Racing Is Perfection
By Paulo Acoba
M&M Honda Racing out of Japan have completed their Hyper Wide Body Kit for the 1999-2000 Honda Civic EK.
Wide body kits that mimic race cars are all the rage now when it comes to modifying your import whether it’s a Honda or Nissan. According to M&M Honda Racing on their blog update earlier this weekend (Sept. 12, 2015) it looks like they’ve pulled off another immaculate looking wide body kit for a 1999-2000 Honda Civic, commonly referred to as an EK hatch. In typical period correctness, they’ve completed the entire car in what we assume to only be Sunlight Yellow, the color code for EK9’s from Japan.

Typically people add on wide body kits for functionality. Being able to run a wide wheel and tire setup makes a car more stable when running at higher speeds due to a marginally bigger contact patch (where the rubber meets the road.) But probably more often than not, people buy wide body kits for their cars because they just look downright awesome. This particular widebody kit from M&M Honda Racing takes the lines of the Honda Civic and runs with them. This particular Civic has already been outfitted with a C-West front and rear bumpers kit as well.

M&M Honda Racing doesn’t only make body kits, they also make various engine, suspension brake and bolt-on performance products mainly for Hondas and Acuras. They also race and tune their own race cars (demo vehicles.) With the profit they make from sales, a good chunk of that goes back into their demo cars which they actively race in series’s all over Japan. Here’s their Honda CL7 (which we know as the Acura TSX) competing in an Accord Spec Class in Tsukuba Japan.
