Formula one is a huge sport around the world.  It ranks among the top sports around the world.  The United States has a version of Formula one with IndyCar, but IndyCar hasn’t brought the same enthusiasm to the fans since the early 1990’s.

The Circuit of the World (COTA) track in Austin, Texas was built to help bring the sport back and generate interest within the United States.  It has been a long time since the United States has had a successful F1 driver.  Phil Hill is the only F1 driver born in the United States to win an F1 championship, back in 1961.

Infiniti is bringing their four-time championship winner to Texas, Sebastian Vettel. Vettel has won F1 championships in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2014.  One can argue that the Red Bull Racing team has created a dynasty in F1 with Sebastian Vettel in the cockpit.

"NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Infiniti Motor Company, Ltd. brings the sights, sounds and smells of international Formula One racing to downtown Austin, Texas on October 29, as Infiniti Red Bull Racing drivers Daniel Ricciardo and four-time F1 World Champion driver Sebastian Vettel will drive Vettel’s 2011 Championship Formula One car and the 560-horsepower Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge prototype up and down Congress Avenue.Kicking off the annual United States Grand Prix™ race weekend, the event starts at 12:00 p.m. CDT on the corner of Congress Avenue and 7th Street at the foot of the iconic Texas Capitol building. An introduction to the drivers will then be followed by high speed runs in the F1 car and the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge prototype."

Sebastian Vettel is currently fifth in the F1 points ranking after a series of reliability issues throughout the season.  His last race win was in 2013 at the Brazlian Grand Prix, the last race of the season.

"Activities will also include a drivers’ parade where spectators get a chance to see the drivers up close. A few lucky fans will also be selected from the crowd to experience a ride in the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge prototype driven by Vettel and Ricciardo."

Who doesn’t want to ride in a new Infiniti Q50 with an F1 racing driver at an F1 track?  It would be quite the experience.
