Mazda CX-3 to Debut at Los Angeles Auto Show

Mazda is absolutely killing it with their line up. The Mazda 6 is easily the sportiest vehicle of the mid-size sedans. Not only does it give a taut feel to the drive, but it offers great gas mileage. It’s not uncommon to see 27mpg – 30 mpg in real world driving.
The Mazda 3 is just an enhancement of the Mazda 6. It’s comfortable, yet the hatchback and the sedan both incorporate SkyActiv technology in terms of reduced weight, aerodynamics, and engine features. This gives great power output while still providing great gas mileage.
The Mazda 2 is an underrated, small hatchback. Though it has 100 horsepower, it weighs nearly the same as my Mr2 Spyder at nearly 2,400 pounds. The Mr2 Spyder had a chassis that felt flimsy and had plenty of cowl shake over larger bumps. The Mazda 2 not only has better structural rigidity, but it also has a rear bench. The bushings are stiffened laterally and softened vertically to offer a smooth ride, yet firm control when the chassis is subjected to lateral loads.
The Mazda CX-5 is essentially, the taller version of the Mazda 3. It has surprising driving dynamics out of the compact SUV market.
Now, Mazda is coming out with a CX-3, which is likely to be a taller version of the Mazda 2.
"Mazda CX-3 is the fifth vehicle in Mazda’s line-up of new-generation products that feature the full range of SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY and KODO—Soul of Motion design. In pursuing a design of beauty and sophistication, the essence of KODO—the expression of life within a vehicle—has been evolved to produce a sharper form with an enhanced sense of speed. In addition, the all-new Mazda MX-5 two-seater open-top sports car (Mazda Roadster in Japan) will make its North American auto show debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The engine line-up for the all-new MX-5 will be tailored to each market, and feature either a 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G gasoline engine, tuned exclusively for the model and mounted longitudinally. North American-specification models will only be fitted with the SKYACTIV-G 2.0 gasoline engine.[via Mazda. 2014. Mazda To Debut All-New Cx-3 Compact Crossover SUV At 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. We can’t wait to see how this SUV handles. It’ll give great competition to a market that could use a sportier side of things.
