This Stock 2015 BMW X5M Just Hit 535 HP On The Dyno

BMW says their 2015 BMW X5M only makes 567 HP and 553 lbs-ft of torque, but this dyno run by IND Performance based out of Lake Zurich, IL pretty much just disproved that claim.

The first thing that IND Performance did when they received their 2015 BMW X5M was head over to their good friends at AMS who more than gladly let them hit the dyno.

Final power numbers? 535 HP and 554 lbs-ft of torque.

This is a good thing. It’s been an industry-wide secret for quite some time that BMW clearly is underrating their engines, and no one is really complaining.

Forget the fact that you only get 17 MPG on the highway. You can rip to sixty in four seconds flat and cruise to a top speed of 159 MPH without breaking a sweat.

Any complaints about all this raw power will probably come from the M Division purists who lament the fact that BMW’s in-house tuning group is touching forced induction altogether. This rift between fans of the brand started around 2010 when the first BMW X6 was massaged by BMW’s M Division.

Purists can’t deny raw power numbers and accountants are loving the fact that these BMW X5 and X6 SUV crossovers are selling like hotcakes. Give the customers what they want. Plenty of power and ample seating for five with lots of ground clearance to clear those mall parking lots.
