If there’s one car that given Pacquiao a major headache, it would have to be his Porsche Cayenne.
After Manny Pacquiao handily defeated Erik Morales in an epic rematch the third time around, he celebrated shortly after by buying himself a 2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S. Upon returning to the Philippines, he planned to bring his Porsche with him. Or so he thought.
Unfortunately, Pacman’s broker understated the value of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo S upon importation into the country and supposedly got away with skipping out on more than $11,000 in import duties.
But all was forgiven when his broker admitted his mistake and his management team bellied up the money.
The 2006 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and the Cayenne lineup has made Porsche into one of the most profitable car companies around. Its largest market? Los Angeles. Which is where Pacquiao probably first got a look at the souped up and lifted Porsche.
Manny’s Porsche Cayenne is the second generation turbo model. That means the turbocharged 4.5 Liter V8 under the hood is now pushing out 520 HP and 530 lbs-ft of torque. 60 MPH comes and goes in 4.9 seconds and if you max the Cayenne out on a deserted road, you’ll hit 161 MPH without breaking a sweat.
It would behoove Manny to keep that Porsche in L.A. as there are few roads in the Philippines that can handle all that speed, but he’s already paid the import fees so it looks like it’s staying across the ocean for now.
