2016 Chevrolet Camaro Photos Leaked Ahead Of Reveal
By Paulo Acoba
General Motors officially announced that they would unveil the 2016 Chevrolet Camaro tomorrow on the 16th, but whether or not they meant to reveal the actual unmasked photos of the new 6th Gen Camaro today is pretty much irrelevant now.
The fact of the matter is that we finally know what the new Camaro looks like and can rest easy after weeks and weeks of intentional teasing on Chevrolet’s part.
So what do we know about the Chevrolet Camaro? Well, we can look to its sibling the Cadillac ATS for how it will be overall sized as they will share a similar platform.
The Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcat as well as the Ford Mustang have already thrown down their respective muscle car gauntlets and now the Camaro needs to show that it can throw down as well.
We do know that GM is planning to stuff a 6.2 Liter V8 under the hood of the Camaro and there are rumors of a turbo four cylinder just like Ford. Whether it’ll be as good as Ford’s EcoBoost unit has yet to be determined.
There will be an SS model and you can expect Chevrolet’s magnetic ride control to be offered on it as well.
Jalopnik was one of the first sites to pick up on the show’s gaffe and so far the comments have been, dare I say, a collective yawn at the styling?
The lines certainly are an evolution of the Camaro lineage. But Maroon probably wasn’t the best color to showcase the new lines. Even the 10th generation Honda Civic gave us a collective shock in lime green.
In the meantime, we can all wait until tomorrow when the Chevrolet Camaro will be officially unveiled at Belle Isle in Detroit (as planned.)
