Day 5 Of 2015 Gumball 3000 Rally: From S.F. To L.A.
By Paulo Acoba
Day 5 of the 2015 Gumball 3000 Rally is officially in the books. Today saw the Gumballers blast from San Francisco, California early in the morning, down the PCH to Los Angeles.
Check out this dope edit by YouTube user Mitchell Camp as some of the Gumballers left S.F. earlier Thursday morning.
Before they arrived in L.A. the Gumballers stopped at Buttonwillow Raceway where they got a chance to check out the 2016 Dodge Vipers as well as take some of them out for a blast around the track. They also got a chance to take their very own cars out for a spin as well.
Let’s take a look at what some of these Gumballers were up to through the eyes of some of the drivers taking part.
If you don’t know who the guy on the left is, his name is Maximillion Cooper a.k.a. Mr. Gumball 3000. As the founder of the whole rally, not only does he organize everything he also actively takes part in it..
Mr. Cooper’s ride. Just this Pagani Huayra. Proper madness!
Before leaving SF, it looks like Gumball Team Anime had a bit of fun going down Lombardi St. before hitting the highway. A.k.a. the crookedest road in the world.
It looks like Deadmau5 and his Gumball car where having the most baller time cruising down the PCH in one of the most expensive caravans at the moment. Props to Deadmau5 for throughouly enjoying and thrashing his McLaren P1 as it was meant to be thrashed.
This caption says it all. PCH is one of the most beautiful drives in California. With beautiful cliffs on one side and the Pacific ocean on the other, it’s no wonder Gumball Team Anime stopped multiple times to snap some shots.
Here’s Gumball Team Anime as they headed inland. Breathtaking to say the least.
Dai Yoshihara, one of the professional drivers piloting the Guess models, is no stranger to Buttonwillow Raceway, having raced and drifted here many times. Here we see him standing in front of a line of Dodge Vipers. For many of the European drivers, this American supercar is actually an exotic.
The final checkpoint for today was the Staples Center in the heart of downtown L.A.
With Day 5 in the books, tomorrow is the final day of driving as the Gumball 3000 rally ends in Las Vegas. The last day is another day of partying so no actual driving. But who knows, they might take these Gumballers to nearby Las Vegas Speedway to end the whole shebang.
Here’s a shot of a few of them in front of the Staples Center.
