Rickie Fowler Flexing With His Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S
By Paulo Acoba
It looks like PGA Tour Golfer Rickie Fowler will be flexing hard during the U.S. open as Mercedes revealed earlier yesterday (June. 6, 2015) over Instagram that he will be behind the wheel of a 2016 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT S. Fowler is in Washington for the week as he prepares himself to battle a relatively new course at Chambers Bay, which has cemented itself early on for being one tough cookie. And supposedly with MB-USA’s latest post on Instagram, Fowler can’t seem to get enough of the AMG GT S as he nonchalantly posed by it, ready for another drive (pun intended.)
With three professional wins under his belt, the 26-year-old Rickie Fowler is one of the faces of the new era for professional golf. With his recent win at The Players Championship earlier in May with an epic faceoff between Kevin Kisner and Sergio Garcia, his win smashed any rumors that he was rusty and his best days are yet to come.

The 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S is the Mercedes response to the likes of the Porsche 911, Jaguar F-Type and the Audi R8. Based off the previous SLS Mercedes, the AMG GT S has lost considerable weight (but also gains a trunk…enough for two golf bags.) Power comes courtesy of a 4.0 Liter twin turbo V8 good for 503 HP which is enough for a romp to 60 MPH in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 193 MPH. Currently, the GT S is the only available trim level but there will be a milder GT with just 456 HP in 2016. Watch the Stig ring it around the Top Gear test track below.
