Confirmed: SpeedVegas Given The Green Light To Begin Construction
By Paulo Acoba
Located just 10 minutes from the world-famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign, SPEEDVEGAS is poised to become a South Las Vegas Boulevard iconic destination. SPEEDVEGAS is scheduled to open in January 2016.
We’ve heard rumors of this 100-acre mecca to supercars opening up in Las Vegas but thanks to our colleagues at “The Gentleman Racer” earlier today (June. 23, 2015) it looks like SpeedVegas was given the greenlight for production. During a time when we see many tracks going to the wayside in favor of more profitable shopping outlets and general urban sprawl we fortunately still have the Wild West (a.k.a. Las Vegas) as a glimmer of hope for auto enthusiasts the world over.
According to the Gentleman Racer,
"SPEEDVEGAS was given the green light to transform 100 acres of South Las Vegas Blvd. into the city’s newest, adrenaline inducing supercar experience. The Clark County Commissioners, responsible for planning and development of the Las Vegas Strip, unanimously voted in favor of the SPEEDVEGAS project."
The 100- acre facility will be located just off the Las Vegas strip. That means a short cab ride from your hotel will land you on what could potentially be the world’s best oasis when it comes to general rich guy automotive hooning.
The track itself will be a Formula One inspired. Read into that as elevation changes, sweeping turns and a straightaway that compares to the world’s best (it’s really really long for that all-important V-max.) And just like one of its desert oasis cousin’s across the world, the Yas Marina circuit, it will be fully lit at night time.
The founder and CEO of SpeedVegas is the real deal. Aaron Fessler, the CEO of SpeedVegas, is one of America’s best venture capitalists starting World Class Driving, Media Sentry, Twine Social including a number of other investments in his lifetime. In 2012, Fessler was awarded, “Entrepreneur Startup Of The Year” thanks to Entrepreneur’s Organization. In more or less words, Fessler will get the job done and make SpeedVegas a reality that will last the test of time, much like the best of Las Vegas.
