Elizabeth Tan Drifting This Toyota Corolla KE70 Will Win Your Heart

Malaysian Youtuber and singer Elizabeth Tan just dropped her latest song and music video in collaboration with Goldfish and Blink earlier yesterday (June. 29, 2015) called “Somewhere New” and according to the songs lyrics she wants to take you somewhere else…somewhere new. Nevermind the song. Let’s focus on the fact that out of all the activities Tan chooses to take you on, she’s taking you drifting. And that my friends is reason enough to drop everything and check out her latest music video complete with sick EDM beat (wait for the drop……wait for…it) and a proper drift chassis.

A little over a minute into the video and we’re hit with some proper tire burnout slow-mo footage. What else do you have in store for us Tan? She chases some boys around Malaysia for a bit while the beat builds up (it’s pretty catchy.) The boys get away in another Corolla and Ms. Tan gives chase in her own KE70 Corolla. We still have more than a third of the video to go! By this time, we’re kind of fed up with lyrics but we’re rewarded with a nice chase scene between the two Corollas where they end up spending the rest of the video tandeming and giving chase in a cloud of dirt and tire smoke.

Next to the AE86 and the Nissan 240, there are few chassis that are RWD and cheap. The Ke70 is up there with them. Whether or not Elizabeth Tan actually drifted the KE70 doesn’t really matter (She probably didn’t but we’d love to be proved wrong.) It’s just refreshing to see these old drift cars show up in pop music videos once in a while. Nice choice Ms. Tan. We’ll go with you wherever you want to take us.
