Comic-Con 2015: Using Uber And Lyft From SD International Airport
By Paulo Acoba
Yes, you can use Uber and Lyft from SD International Air Port.
According to San Diego City Council, Uber and Lyft have been cleared for operation for drivers to pick up passengers from San Diego International Airport. That means when you arrive to San Diego from wherever you came from, if you already have the Uber and Lyft App, you can skip the taxi, limousine or car rental if you were planning to book one and you can rely on Uber and Lyft. The forum boards from both ride sharing services are pretty active in anticipation of 2015 Comic-Con arrivals so you should have no problem getting a ping for service once you arrive.
Here are some things to keep in mind when you do book your Uber and Lyft drive from San Diego International. These tips come courtesy of Uber and your experience with Lyft may vary.
- The airport will charge your Uber and Lyft ride $3.76 off the bat.“
- Once you’ve deplaned and collected your bags, open whatever app you have and drop the pin anywhere within the airport terminal.
- “Request your ride when you’re ready to go — we recommend after you’ve picked up your baggage.”
- UberBlack and UberSUV are the only services that you can use to have someone pick you up curbside, for all others, use the designated pickup spots.
“FOR TERMINAL 1 PICKUPS:
Walk across the skywalk towards short term parking. Go down the escalator and turn left towards the parking lot. Your driver will be waiting there.
FOR TERMINAL 2 PICKUPS:
Exit the airport through the doors by baggage claims 4,5,6. Using the crosswalk, head towards short term parking. Your driver will be waiting in the parking lot.”
