When Pope Francis visits the United States next month, he will be using a Jeep Wrangler

If you’re a regular church in the United States, you’ve probably heard the hubbub around Sunday donuts that Pope Francis is going to be visiting this September. According to the Washington Post on theirpost earlier yesterday (Aug. 20, 2015) the popemobile he’ll be using will be a modified Jeep Wrangler, very similar to the one he used in Ecuador, but not THAT exact one. Right now, the American Popemobile is in the hands of the Secret Service and obviously, details about the specifics of that Jeep are kept under wraps, but it’s nice to know that the best from FCA will be underpinning the Pope’s feet when he does come to visit.

Unlike his predecessor, Pope Benedict, bulletproof glass probably won’t be surrounding the pontiff as he makes his way through the streets of Washington D.C., New York and Philidelphia. As far as we know, Pope Francis isn’t really all that loyal to one brand of car. If it’s got four wheels, he’ll ride on top of it. In the Philippines, he infamously used a Kia. In his home country of Italy, the official Papal Vehicle is a modified Hyundai. Francis himself owns a standard Ford Focus in which he drives around in on a daily basis in. The only question we’d like to know about this Jeep Wrangler is if it’s trail rated or not!

In the meantime while we wait for his plane to land and his Wrangler to roll around our great country, enjoy the successor of Peter taking delivery of a Pizza while on the move.
