Watch This Challenger SRT Hellcat Lay The Smack Down In The UK

Someone took a Dodge Challenger Hellcat to a VMax 200 event and Europe and showed Europe how Americans throw down.

A couple of times a year, Vmax 200 throws high-speed run events at the famous Bruntingthorope Proving Grounds in lovely Leicestershire, UK. Youtuber Hampshire Photo uploaded his experience riding shotgun in a 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat at the latest VMax event (Sept. 27, 2015) and documented his run up to 189 MPH, no small feat for any supercar let alone an American bruiser. One look at the official promo for VMax 200 and you get a good idea of what kind of cars show up at these events.  Regular attendees include McLaren P1, Bugatti Veyrons, enough Koenigsegg CCX’s to gawk at, Ferrari’s up the yin-yang, Porsche 918’s and more Lamborghini’s then you can shake a stick at. What’s exotic in America is probably common fare in the UK and vice versa. So when this Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat showed up, you can imagine that a few exotic owners snickered under their collective breaths and didn’t give the American street fighter a second glance (out of principle of course.)

But down the 3.5 KM stretch, one of the largest in all of the UK, the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat put all its 707 HP and whopping 650 lb-ft of torque to good use and came close to touching 200 MPH but not quite. You can hear it in the video, but the SRT Hellcat didn’t shriek or bounce off the rev limiter like some exotics but sort of swaggered its way up to its max velocity for that day. If we were there, we’d be waving tiny American flags and fist-pumping the air as the SRT Hellcat launched across the line.
