#4- Carpooling. Now better thanks to smart phone apps.

Look at the car to the left of you and to the right of you and you’ll probably see that there’s only one person driving and no passengers. You yourself might be driving with all that extra passenger space. Humans are creatures of patterns and behaviours and chances are where you’re headed, so are many people as well. If you’re a student or work in an office where you know for a fact people commute around the same area from you, then carpooling is for you. You can use the traditional method of carpooling by asking your officemates if they’d like to carpool but that can get complicated real quick. Thankfully there are a couple of apps that might make that easier for you.

1. Carma Carpooling- Carma carpooling works by you choosing where you want to go and finding people who already are going along that route. They come pick you up along the way and you pay them for gas. It’s done all electronically and all in real-time so its super convenient. If you live in a college town and are a student, it should be more than easy for you to use.

2. Uber/Lyft– Not for use everyday but if you have a special event you want to go to, plan on drinking or just plain having a good time and are taking up to four friends, Uber and Lyft is at your service. Cheaper than splitting gas and parking, it’s quick and efficient.
