There’s a very thin line between the 2016 Chevrolet Volt being a regular gas engine powered car and an electric car. Theoretically, the gasoline engine never really runs the wheels, only the electric motors. 2016 marks the second generation of the Chevrolet Volt and it has larger batteries, is faster, lighter and more attractive than ever before.
First there’s the styling. Some have likened the all new Volt as looking like a ninth generation Civic, and the way we see it, there’s nothing wrong with that. A tiny engine up front not needing much cooling means the body is streamlined. The Volt is no sports car by any means of the phrase but its handling is quite nimble as well as braking and overall driving dynamics. Compared to a Prius, the Chevrolet Volt is like a Corvette.
For 2016, there’s now seating for five although the middle seat is a bit of a stretch. And thanks to sharing a few bits and pieces from the Chevrolet Cruze, the interior is smartly appointed and attractive at first glance. Many owners reported never having to turn on their gas engines, sometimes weeks at a time because electric only range was so good. Now with a jump from 38 miles to 53 miles, this is moreso true. End right now, first generation Volts can be had for not much.
