The good news is that the Smart ForTwo received a redesign for 2016. The bad news is that the redesign didn’t trickle down to the electric drive but that’s all due to change next year when the electric drive does indeed receive redesign of sorts (bigger battery, more range and possibly a bit more power.) The Smart fortwo electric drive is definitely an acquired taste. With seating for only for two and being slightly heavier (by 16 percent ) than the regular gasoline-powered Smart fortwo, it’s a little more in terms of handling to maneuver. Unresponsive seems to be the key word when it comes to steering response.
Its diminutive size means that its a breeze to park and zip around the city. With 68 miles of range, it’s honestly not meant to be taken on any long trips except for the commute to work and back. And with only 7.8 cubic inches of storage space, you only have enough storage space for a quick weekend getaway. Don’t let the small size fool you as many drivers think the cabin is spacious and airy. This is the only EV currently available in a convertible.
