More than just a new model, the 2016 Nissan TITAN XD creates a "new class" of pickup that stakes out a unique position in the segment between traditional heavy-duty and light-duty entries. Technically the 2016 Nissan Titan XD isn’t for sale yet, but we decided to throw it on the list nonetheless. This is the first diesel engine being stuffed into a Japanese full-size truck and that’s thanks to Cummins International for this brute. With maximum torque coming in at a low 1,600 RPM, there’s plenty of grunt off the line. Power numbers don’t begin to fall until around 4,200 RPM which is very close to redline for this burly V8 engine. Thanks to a chain -driven valve train, this new engine will be plenty quiet and its 90-degree V8 configuration means it’s balanced (because physics.) Paired to this all-new engine will be a six-speed automatic.

Styling has been a tad controversial to say the least. From 100 feet away, you most likely couldn’t tell the difference between the Titan and the Ford F-150. Inside as far as Nissan is concerned, it’s plenty spacious. What Nissan calls master craftsmanship, we call durable interior with a touch of class. There’s plenty of storage and power to be found with side pockets on the doors and power outlets for your devices scattered throughout.
