This particular Diesel is Italian made ( in Ferrara, Italy to be exact.) FCA has went ahead and rebranded it as an ecodiesel instead. Thanks to plenty of torque down low, this Cherokee has all the towing capabilities compared to its regular gas powered Cherokees. Peak torque comes in at 2000 RPM and the redline hovers around 4800 RPM. Paired to this gem of an engine is an eight-speed automatic transmission. For those that have observed the noise of this diesel inside and outside of the cabin, it’s really no louder when compared to its V8 counterpart.

Thanks to sharing a platform with the Mercedes-Benz W166 series, the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s exterior dimensions as well as on-road manners are much improved compared to the previous generation.  Even though this Jeep Grand Cherokee has superior off-roading chops, it’s very much a star on flat pavement.
