#12-1955 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II

Appeared in: Back to the Future II and III

We first hear about the 1955 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud in BTTF II when Lorraine and George McFly recount the story when 1985 Marty McFly was called out for being chicken and raced Needles and his buddies in his 1978 Ford F-150. Marty supposedly broke his hand in the incident after crashing into a Rolls Royce and could no longer play music ultimately giving up on his musical career. When Marty and Jennifer encounter Needles for the second time in 1985, Marty already with the knowledge of what not to do, doesn’t race Needles and avoids hitting the 1955 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II and from then on history is changed forever for the better. Although the car shows up in the movie but for a moment, it was such an important vehicle in the grand scheme of things.

Back in 1955, a Rolls Royce Silver Cloud would’ve cost around $7800 which in todays money is about $70,000. The 1955 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud was one of Rolls-Royce’s core models during the period it was made (from 1955-1966) The SCII was most likely powered by a 6.2 liter Rolls-Royce V8 that was capable of a 114 MPH top speed and a leisurely run up to 60 MPH in 13.5 seconds.
