#28- 1980 Chevrolet Malibu Police Car

Who knew Marty McFly was such a green commuter as his preferred choice of transporation was his skateboard and whatever vehicle happened to be passing his way. Just after Marty McFly and Jennifer made plans to have a bit of camping fun by the lake and were somewhat rudely interrupted by the Clock tower lady shoving a flyer into Marty’s hand, Jennifer’s father butts in and rolls up in his 1984 AMC Eagle (typical dad mobile) and gets Jennifer away from Marty.

Then Marty starts his commute home by hitching a ride on 1980 Chevrolet Malibu Police Car. Although we’ve never seen a green police car before, by the looks of its livery, it may have been a state police vehicle. McFly boldy latches onto the rear chrome bumper and makes his merry way home.

The 1980 Chevrolet Malibu was a stalwart police vehicle for its time. Nowadays most Police cars are either Ford Crown Victorias or Explorers back it wasn’t too far back that there were just as many Chevrolet Police cars as there were Ford’s. In the 1980’s Chevrolet Impalas and Chevrolet Malibus were just as common as Ford Crown Vics or Ford LTD’s.
