As far as product placements go, this Volvo ranks up there with Bond’s Mondeo in Casino Royale. Just as Dominic Greene departs the airport to a performance of Tosca, Bond tails Greene in the most inconspicuous of Bond vehicles, a 2008 Volvo S40 T5. Placed on Greene’s Jag is a tracking device which bond closely monitors with his Sony Ericsson smartphone. We’ve seen that happen before. If you’re wondering why so many Ford Motor Vehicles do show up in the latest crop of Bond films (that includes Die Another Day, Quantum of Solace and the aforementioned Casino Royale,) it’s because Ford struck up quite the sponsorship deal.

T5 meant the S40 was powered by Ford’s 5-cylinder turbo with 230 HP and 236 lb-ft paired to a 5-speed manual. Although it’s a Swiss car, it was assembled in Belgium.
