#25- 1998 Jaguar XKR

Technically this wasn’t a Bond driven vehicle, but never before has Bond been matched against such an equally equipped vehicle with so many gadgets. While Pierce Brosnan drove around in an Aston Martin Vanquish, Bond Villian Zao had this lovely piece of equipment to go in a head to head battle with an ice-lake as the backdrop.This one of a kind Jaguar came equipped with a Gatling gun mounted in the center behind the seats, heat-seeking missiles mounted in the front grilles, rocket launchers in the doors and mortars in the rear trunk.

For Die Another Day, there were eight Jaguar XKR’s built, four with rear wheel drive and four with all-wheel drive as the dramatic chases scene in Iceland called for it. All eight were painted in that iconic green that also was the racing livery for Jaguar’s Formula 1 racing team at the time. Additionally, the four wheel drive chassis XKR’s were given a beefier front suspension courtesy of a Ford Explorer and outfitted with smaller Ford 302’s up front to accommodate the chassis modifications. Back in 2010, one of the four stunt XKR’s hit the auction house and was sold for around $80,000.

Fun Fact: The Jaguar-Aston Rivalry lives on with the C-X75 in Spectre.
