#20- 2011 Jaguar XJ L 3.0 V6
Appeared in: Sky Fall
The head of MI6 only gets driven around in the finest the UK has to offer so you can forget about your BMW 7-Series and Mercedes S-Class, MI6 gets a 2011 Jaguar XJ L as its service car in the film.
Although we unfortunately first encounter this Jag while M discovers that MI6 HQ has been compromised, the XJ is later used by Bond when he “kidnaps” Judi Dench after Silvia fails at assassinating her. Ultimately, it’s the Jag’s tech that puts Bond in the position to choose something more old school which we see is his much loved Aston Martin DB5.
Before the film’s release, Motor Trend did a little expose on the film’s cars and revealed that there were several XJ’s used in the shoot. The passenger seat had to be removed in one XJ for all the shots with M riding in the back seats. Another XJ was used for all the panning beauty exterior shots and still another XJ was used with all sorts of camera mounts added onto it. After one of the original XJ’s turned up at a Jaguar dealer, it was instantly bought by a fan of the films. The original plates with “OV61FVF” from the film were a dead giveaway.
