Top 40 James Bond Vehicles Of All Time

#19- 1997 BMW R 1200 Super Bike
Appeared in: Tomorrow Never Dies
Director Roger Spottisoode, seeing that Bond had already pulled off an epic stunt with a tank in Goldeneye, felt that a motorcycle chase was more innovative since a bigger vehicle wasn’t quite his style. Besides the garage chase scene with Bond in his remote controlled BMW 750IL, this BMW bike played a major role in the film. After Bond and agent Wai Lin (played by Michelle Yeoh) escape the CMGN tower in Ho Chi Minh City, Bond takes control of the first bike he sees and they both set off on one of the more epic chase scenes in Bond history.
Both still in handcuffs, Wai Lin and Bond do their best to navigate the tight Vietnamese streets. At one point, they both find themselves on a rooftop and Bond takes a chance and drives across the rooftop, jumps over the blades of a following helicopter, and lands on the other side.
Fifteen R 1200 bikes were used with a dozen getting destroyed in the making. The stuntman in the helicopter jump scene is traveling at 60 MPH to make the jump. One of the three surviving R 1200’s can be found at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, UK.
