Top 40 James Bond Vehicles Of All Time

#14- 1968 Aston Martin DBS Vantage
Appeared in: On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
Peter Hunt made sure that George Lazenby was given a proper Bond vehicle so here we are at one of many Aston Martin’s on this list, the ’68 DBS Vantage.
There are no gadgets on this Bond vehicle although there is what looks like a survival rifle disassembled in the glove compartment. Most importantly, this DBS lacked any sort of bulletproofing (especially on the glass) which proved to be a fatal error on MI6’s part in the final parting scenes of the film.
We catch the DBS in many scenes of the film, most importantly in the beginning sequence where Bond saves Tracy di Vicenzo, his soon to be wife, from committing suicide. And bitter-sweetly, the DBS was Bond’s wedding vehicle when he gets married to di Vicenzo. Mrs. Bond suffers a drive-by shooting and dies at the hands of a passing Blofeld.
There were two DBS’s used on set, one for exterior shots and one for all the interior shots. Both DBS’s, quite appropriately, are now in private collections.
The Aston Martin DBS was no slouch. The DBS was equipped with a naturally aspirated straight six good for 280 HP. Top speed was an optimistic 140 MPH.
