Top 40 James Bond Vehicles Of All Time

#11- 1999 BMW Z8
As I was saying, the very latest in intercepts and countermeasures. Titanium armour, a multi-tasking heads-up display and six beverage cup holders. All in all, rather stocked.

The BMW Z8 is a two door sports car that boasts a 4.9 liter V8 good for 400 HP and 370 lb-ft. The body itself is all aluminum which translates to an overall low-body weight, good enough for a blast to 60 MPH in 4.2 seconds. Bond’s Z8 was outfitted with all sorts of gadgets from MI6 including surface to air missiles (conveniently placed behind the side air intakes, ) a remote control key chain that can control the Z8 from a distance, an infra-red tracking system, and a listening device. Unfortunately for Bond, his time with the Z8 was short-lived as it was cut in half by a very large reciprocating saw.
During the time of filming, there weren’t any Z8’s in existence. That meant Eon Production’s in-house design studio had to make several prop vehicles based off the prototype shell design of the BMW Z8. Using an AC Cobra kit-car chassis (specifically the Dax Cobra chassis) to underpin the fabricated bodies and stuffing Chevrolet motors under the hood, the production team was able to give the illusion of running and driving Z8’s.
The inclusion of the Z8 for filming was the final part of a product placement deal spread out over three films. It began with the Z3 in GoldenEye, the 750 iL in Tomorrow Never Dies and this Z8.
