Top 40 James Bond Vehicles Of All Time

#32- 2006 Ford Mondeo
Appeared in: Casino Royale
Talk about a car with a bit of espionage within an espionage movie. It’s hard to believe, but out of all the cars used in Casino Royale (including all those Aston Martins) this Ford Mondeo at the time was probably the most expensive one of all as it was just a prototype from Ford. Not a single robot touched this Mondeo during preparation as it was hand-built by Ford of Europe’s design studio in Germany. Powering this prototype was one of Ford’s hottest engines for the third generation Mondeo, a 2.5 liter turbocharged unit also found in the previous gen Focus ST which put out a healthy 217 HP and 236 lb-ft of torque.
In the rolling shots in Casino Royale, it’s hard not to notice the blatant product placement of it all. As Bond rips through the Bahamas the camera does a great rolling pan shot of the Ford driving dead straight at speed. Bond then whips out his Sony Ericsson cell phone to check how far he has to get to the Ocean Club. I guess Bond was also trained in the art of checking your smartphone while driving by MI6 too.
