The last thing anyone wants to see whose showing a car at SEMA and has to park outside is their car being pummeled with tiny bits of ice from the heavens.

Mention Las Vegas and the last word that anyone has come to mind is “hail.” But for some people at SEMA 2015 earlier today (Nov. 4, 2015) it was a reality turned absolute social media nightmare. SEMA is all about showing off your best products and dopest builds and that means plenty of show and shine. Cars sometimes get detailed for 2-3 days with dozens of hours spent cutting, polishing and compounding. Then to see your car being hit with hail..it’s devastating. Take a look at some of the social media that hit the web earlier today. Paint correcters, avert your eyes.

Upon closer inspection, what those people called hail, real hail damage survivors would call a walk in the park. One of the closeups of the pieces of hail revealed that they were the size of maybe a large grain of salt, nothing that would damage your paint unless it just rolled out of the paint booth. But in all seriousness, one person’s tiny hail can be another person’s severe damage so any form of solid material falling from the sky means serious business.

If there was any reason to make a case for protecting paint, this would be it. I’m sure some of these car owners snuck into a quiet corner of the massive halls in SEMA and updated their insurance polices…for no apparent reason obviously.
