#10- A GoPro or any of these wonderful alternatives.

Yes, you can get a GoPro for $100 and under (or at least very close to $100).

GoPros are honestly one of the best action cameras out there for all other filming that your car guy won’t be using his smartphone for. That includes hanging an action camera outside his car, getting rolling shots during a car meet or mounting one on his dirtbike for a quick romp around the woods.

The cheapest GoPro is the GoPro Hero offering basic features that still will give you the GoPro experience at 1080p for 30 fps or that all important slo-mo shot at 720p for 60 fps.  GoPro Heros start at $130 but you can find them well under $100 on eBay and Amazon.  If a GoPro is still out of your price range, these alternatives will still fit the bill.

  1. SJCAM SJ4000 – At a quick glance few can tell the difference between this bad boy and a real Go Pro. And the video quality is just as good. ($90)
  2. Polaroid Cube– This handy little camera is all the rage for its low-entry price and small size. MSRP starts at $100 but that means there are many others selling theirs for well under $100.
  3. Xiaomi Yi Action Camera– Like the SJ4000, this one is a particular favorite for those looking for an alternative. Priced at $88, it’s an absolute steal.
