Throughout the eight years in my automotive career, I’ve learned a few things.

  1.  Never buy a new car when trying to save money.  Let 1-3 years of a depreciation of a vehicle do the saving for you.
  2.  Always buy exactly the car you want, no compromises, even in the used market.
  3.  Carfax and Autocheck aren’t always the most reliable sources for accident data

Why would I consider a Mazda 2?  I’m aware of other used vehicles that hold their value extremely well, despite high mileage.  That reason alone is not enough for me to purchase the car.  I have a short history of used vehicles; ’98 Corolla, ’91 Mr2 (N/A, Manual), ’93 Mr2 (N/A, Manual), ’01 Mr2 (Manual), ’04 MazdaSpeed Miata, ’07 Ford Police Interceptor, and my current ’07 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT which has been featured on this site before.
