#2- Nissan Titan XD Platinum Reserve- $66,829

More than just a new model, the 2016 Nissan TITAN XD creates a "new class" of pickup that stakes out a unique position in the segment between traditional heavy-duty and light-duty entries. The bold new design combines the capability of a heavy-duty hauler with the drivability and affordability of a light-duty pickup – and is anchored by a powerful Cummins® 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel rated at 310 horsepower and a hefty 555 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to a heavy-duty 6-speed Aisin automatic transmission.

A relative newcomer to the truck market, the Nissan Titan does enjoy some of the pie taken up by the Ford F-150. The starting MSRP for this Texas-bred hauler from Japan is $40,290. This Titan XD does come with one of the best engines standard which is a Cummins 5.0 Liter V8 with 310 HP and 555 lb-ft paired to an Aisin 6-speed automatic.

First, we opted for the Platinum Reserve Titan which bumps the price up to $61,715 (Which includes the $1,195 destination charge.)

Accessories don’t come in packages but there were 29 available that you can add on for an additional $5,114.  Most notable accessories included

  • $610- Water resistant seat covers
  • $570- Weight Distributing Hitch Ball Mount
  • $270- Platinum Reserve Floor Mats
  • $46- Seat belt extender ( “..if you need more breathing room.”) etc.

Nissan even had a handy inventory counter to show how many Titan XD’s were available for purchase. As of this writing, there were 3,757 Titan XD’s available.
