#7 Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon SLT 4×4- $53,509
A newcomer to the truck scene, the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon are classified as mid-sized trucks but that doesn’t mean you can’t spec them both up to well past their MSRP’s. The Chevrolet Colorado starts out at $20,100 and the GMC Canyon (its fraternal twin) is just $855 more expensive at $20,955. So for this example, we’re going for the Canyon.
The Canyon comes nicely equipped with a fuel sipping 2.5L Inline-4 that puts out 200 HP and 191 lb-ft. There’s the optional Pentastar V6 that is more robust at 305 HP and 269 Lb-ft. But the king of this engine lineup is the 2.8L Duramax Diesel with 181 HP and 369Lb-ft. Add on a 4WD compared to the standard 2WD and the price bumps up to $29,360. We then go for the SLT trim level which brings the MSRP up to $38,875 ( for this much, we could technically buy two Colorados!)
Then we opted for a more premium color for $395, various packages for $2,710 and over $7,615 in individual options and $3,910 in accessories. The final MSRP is $53,509. Suddenly your midsize truck is at full-size truck prices.
