#13-Delivery Truck Carrying 119 Cylinders Of Oxygen Crashes.

If there’s one thing worse than crashing it’s crashing carrying a whole bunch of liquid oxygen cylinders in the back of your truck. In 2013, Dashcam footage emerged showing a truck crash in Russia where the truck was carrying over 119 bottles of a gaseous substance later confirmed as oxygen tanks.

Shortly after the truck caught fire, several of the bottles of oxygen started to emit O2 from leaks. After those bottles caught fire, a chain reaction of explosions led to numerous other bottles catching fire as well. Over the span of 10 minutes a good chunk of the bottles exploded violently with many of them acting as projectiles in their trajectory.

You’ll be glad to know that the driver escaped into the woods by the highway shortly after the fireworks started going off.

This video highlights the dangers of carrying around hazardous materials. Thankfully in the United States and other parts of the world, the transport of such materials is under strict scrutiny throughout transit with the slightest infraction resulting in losing the right to transport hazardous materials in the future. Nevertheless, a vigilant driver is a safe driver and one should always be aware of their surroundings on the highway.
