#12- Nissan Truck Obliterated Slamming Into Big Rig

Sometimes even the safest drivers who are following the rules of the road can be involved in crashes of epic proportions. Earlier in 2012, a video went viral showcasing the dangers of texting while driving. A truck somewhere in the United States seems to veer into the path of a larger big rig exploding into seemingly a million pieces.

Although sensational at first, the facts of the case became clear after a couple of sites debunked the video and separated fact from fiction. The driver of the truck wasn’t texting while driving but was safely traveling along a piece of highway albeit a bit slick from the recent snowfall.

This stretch of highway in Russia has garnered quite the reputation for being a sketchy piece of road claiming many victims and infamously killing a Russian movie star back in 2007.

The truck in the video hits a “furrow” of wet snow and he loses control. With no concrete barrier separating the truck from opposing traffic in the other lane, he has nowhere to go but the immediate path of traffic of an oncoming big rig. Physics tells the rest of the story with the truck exploding into smithereens. Unfortunately, he didn’t survive.
