#46- DWI: Chevrolet Camaro Causes Big Wreck

What are the chances you’d catch a wreck on camera just days after you purchased your dashcam. For this driver in his truck, that’s exactly what happened.

Earlier in April 2015, an Ohio man was arrested for driving while under the influence and causing a three-vehicle crash on a New York State Thuruway.

The video begins on a two-lane highway with a Chevrolet Camaro attempting to squeeze into the left lane from the right lane. At first, the truck in front of the dash cam driver doesn’t let him through but eventually the Camaro manages to squeeze in from behind. Then, the Camaro tries to pass the truck that initially blocked him by using the emergency lane to the far left.

With parts of his tire on tarmac and the other tire on dirt, his Camaro loses traction and plows into the pickup and the big rig in the right lane that was boxing him in. All three cars veer off the road and the dash cam driver immediately pulls over to offer assistance and let them all know he’s got the entire thing on camera which proved useful for insurance purposes later on.

Although the Camaro driver was clearly at fault, there were plenty of opportunities where this situation could’ve been diffused. If the truck that didn’t initially let him in would’ve been kind enough to choose his own battles elsewhere, he could’ve avoided the ensuing mayhem.

Since last year, this video has racked up a whopping five million views and counting.
