Mazda Cx-5
The Mazda Cx-5 is one of the most enjoyable SUVs on the market. I don’t think of it as a sport-utility vehicle. It drives like a raised hatchback.
That might make it the perfect daily driver for you. The 2WD Touring model comes with a Navigation system, rear cross traffic alert, and a blind spot monitor. Power is developed from a 2.5-liter SKYACTIV four-cylinder engine, capable of 184 horsepower and 185-lb.ft. of torque. The SKYACTIV engine is attached to a 6-speed automatic transmission, capable of an estimated gas mileage of 26 city, 33 highway.
All of this comes in at a base price of $25,215. An all-wheel-drive option is available for those that are a bit more adventurous with their driving.
Few SUVs are as enjoyable to drive as the Cx-5. It drives like a Mazda 3, but with more ride height. What does that mean exactly? The steering feel is more direct than other competitors in the market, such as the Hyundai Santa Fe or Toyota Rav4. Throttle response is linear due to the naturally aspirated engine, and brake feel is progressive. It responds very well to a driver’s inputs without exaggerating the response on the road.
