This doesn’t look like a typical Kobe Bryant choice. It wasn’t. CelebritiesCarsBlog.com provided details of his old Chevrolet Impala. Vanessa Bryant brought him the car, way back in 2006. Crazy right? Clearly, the Chevrolet Impala has had a few modifications, especially with the airbag suspension and wheel and tire package. There isn’t much known about the other refinements of the car, but it shouldn’t be surprising when the car was actually auctioned off on Ebay.
If I was lucky enough to have a wife buy me a car, I think I would definitely stick with it for awhile. Admittedly, this may not be Kobe Bryant’s style, but it doesn’t hurt to take it out with the wife for the Sunday cruise. It would be the type of gift that is shared, rather than kept, you know?
The 1963 Chevrolet Impala came with a variety of options, especially in terms of engine choice and transmission choice. There were four different transmissions available; a 3-speed manual, a 4-speed manual, an overdrive automatic, or a powerglide automatic transmission. Horsepower range varies from the engine choice, as low as 250 horsepower, up to 425 horsepower.
Chances are, this is definitely on the low side of the power range with an automatic transmission. It just seems more fitting, especially for driving low and slow.
