Ford is now accepting applications for its new Ford GT…but are you worthy?
Ford Performance has announced that they have opened up the online application process for the new Ford GT. Potential buyers can now apply to get on the list for one of these rare 600hp (Est.) vehicles, but there is a catch; you need to prove to Ford that you are “worthy” of owning the new Supercar.
Ford has decided that potential buyers must first fill out an application form as demand for the new Ford GT is expected to far exceed the estimated 500 GT vehicles that will be produced over the next 2 years when production finally gets underway.
This process will give preference to current Ford GT owners and loyal customers, and help Ford identify only the most “suitable” new customers.
There are geographical limitations as well. Ford has decided that only 19 countries across North America, Europe and Asia will be eligible for consideration due to the limited amount of vehicle’s that will be made available.
If you are one of the lucky ones that manages to survive the cut, you will be awarded the chance to place an order on this 600hp (Est.), 3.5-litre V-6 EcoBoost Supercar. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention you will also need around $400,000 to go with that?
Ford has not left the rest of us in the dark, though. For the normal everyday Car Enthusiast and GT Fanatic, Ford has launched its online GT configurator where you can cycle through combinations of the eight different paint colors and seven stripe combinations that will be available at launch. The configurator also allows you to explore the different wheels, brake calipers, and interior styles.
This gives fans of the new GT a chance to explore the vehicle as well as come up with some “sweet” wallpapers for your computer.
If you are interested in trying to make the cut and get your hands on one of these vehicles you better hurry because applications close at 11:59pm ET on May 12th. For the rest of us, click here to check out the Ford GT configurator.
