If you are a BMW or Merc follower, then now you have one reason to poke the Audi enthusiast in your circle. Prices for the upcoming 2018 Audi RS3 sedan have been announced and it costs more than the BMW M2 and the Mercedes-Benz AMG CLA45.

Audi loyalists needn’t be dejected by what’s scribbled above. At the recently-announced price tag of $54,900, the 2018 Audi RS3 sedan isn’t a bad deal at all. The package makes a lot of sense given what’s on offer at the aforementioned sum which you have to part with. For that money, you are bringing home one potent-little sports sedan.

The 2018 RS3 sedan has a 2.5-liter TFSI 5-cylinder engine which belts out a healthy 400 hp of power and 354 lb-ft of torque. Routing the rather impressive output through a 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission, the RS3 will gladly shoot off to 60 mph from a standstill in a remarkable 3.9 seconds. The agile road runner has 8-piston monobloc brake calipers to slow down things. You can also tick the right checkbox and add on the optional carbon ceramic discs for better stopping power.

The sports sedan has a speed limiter in place which grabs it by the neck when the speedo reads 155 mph. But if you opt for the Dynamic plus package, the RS3 sedan will top out at a substantially higher 174 mph. It comes with four driving modes too – comfort, auto, dynamic and individual – each allowing the driver to change gear shift points, steering, throttle response, and damper control.

The Audi USA press release announcing the prices has mentioned that a limited number of 2017 RS3 will also be produced. Those units will be priced at $54,500.

"These will be the first vehicles arriving in the US and will be preconfigured with carbon fiber inlays, Audi virtual cockpit with MMI® Navigation plus, Bang & Olufsen Sound System, 19-inch, five-arm-blade design wheels with titanium finish, red brake calipers and the RS sport exhaust system with black tips."
