Another action-packed Transformers movie is ready for release and the final trailer of Transformers: The Last Knight has landed. We think it’s the best trailer we’ve seen so far for the 5th movie in the thriving franchise.

It seems CW’s Barry Allen a.k.a “The Flash” has screwed up the timeline so much that Dominic Toretto turned against his family in The Fate of the Furious and Optimus Prime betrays his fellow Autobots and human allies in Transformers: The Last Knight. The final trailer has been released by Paramount Pictures and it throws in some more light on why the incorruptible leader of the good guys, wages war on Earth.

Looks like the Creators (called the Quintessons, in the comic books and animated series) who built the Transformers are offering Optimus Prime the chance to revive his dead home planet Cybertron, provided he is willing to put Earth’s future in the firing line. Somehow that’s tied to the Arthurian legend and World War II, since promotional clips have been released which indicate that Transformers had a role in those historical events.

For car guys, the movie is loaded to the brim with both exotic and muscle car machinery. An extensively-modified Chevrolet Camaro stars as Bumblebee, along with the likes of a souped-up Ford Mustang cop car, Lamborghini Centenario, McLaren 570GT, Aston Martin DB11 and Mercedes-AMG GT R taking up the roles of different Autobot and Decepticon characters. There are more vehicles – both Earth-bound and alien – spread across cars, trucks, construction equipment, military vehicles and alien spacecraft to watch out for. The production design wing must have worked overnight for months to come up with the hardware on display in Transformers 5.

Not surprisingly and just like its predecessors, Transformers 5 will be loaded with car chases and vehicular action filmed amidst director Michael Bay’s signature shooting style. Now that’s something to pay the extra dollars for to see it all unfold on the biggest screen nearby.

More from Movie Cars

The final trailer is insanely action-packed with medieval war scenes, an unstoppable avalanche of explosions, and giant shape-shifting robots brawling, slashing and punching their way through everything in sight. Cars get their abundant share of screen time with all the prospects of a couple of exciting chases teased in the new trailer. We also get a quick glance of the Quintesson who brainwashes Optimus to turn against humanity and some of the new robot characters who are making their debut.

And of course, there is the epic showdown for which even the worst critics will show up to watch Transformers: The Last Knight. The battle between Optimus Prime and his closest ally, Bumblebee may turn out to be more visceral than we ever imagined. In the footage shown, Optimus doesn’t even pull his punches while taking on his friend and even goes to the extent of tearing off Bumblebee’s wings with his bare hands. Boy, that’s more brutal than the hero-vs-hero fights in Captain America: Civil War and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
