Nissan Skyline And GT-R Tuning Shop In The UK Burns Down
RB Motorsport’s Japanese car tuning facility in Mawdesley, Wigan, United Kingdom burnt down the other day. The devastating fire took sports cars like the Nissan Skyline GT-R R32, the current-generation Nissan GT-R and the Ford Escort Cosworth along with it.
The sight of the charred remains of a car can be quite upsetting to many. So it’s going to be R-rated territory from this point onwards. As UK-based Japanese tuning shop, RB Motorsport and their customers are trying to put things back together, more pictures have been posted online of the damage caused by the massive fire which burnt down their facility. The pictures have been uploaded by the firm on their Facebook page too. With the likes of the Nissan Skyline GT-R R32, Nissan GT-R R35 and a Ford Escort Cosworth in various stages of severe damage, the images aren’t for everyone.
The Facebook post made by the tuning shop has confirmed that 99 percent of everything was destroyed by the inferno. A statement which more or less seals the fate of the customer cars which were stored in the building when the flames took over. Also mentioned is the harsh reality that the company may take a long time to get back to its feet. The images do elucidate the huge loss of equipment and property, both of which are highly-expensive to replace.
A follow-up post with more updates sheds some light on how RB Motorsport is dealing with the disaster. The insurance officials and inspectors will be examining the premises this week. Meanwhile, the management will be focusing on getting the damaged customer cars out of the charred debris.
Fortunately, no one got injured in the fire which consumed a fleet of R32 and R35 Nissan Skyline GT-R sports cars.

RB Motorsport has also opened up a temporary office to handle communications and enquiries. While they have committed to taking orders for parts, there is also gentle reminder that there will be an understandable delay in deliveries, given the cumbersome task of rising from the ashes, literally.
