John Cena Shows Off His 2006 Ford GT In Auto Geek
Ford GT news is trending these days. So why don’t we add something on WWE champion John Cena and his love for the 2006 Ford GT in his collection?
John Cena is one of the most popular WWE wrestlers on the planet. He can rap and has also starred in action and comedy movies. Will he be the next Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson? We’re not sure about that. What we are sure of is that this guy loves cars and has a vast collection comprising of American muscle cars spread across various eras. He even has an online show called Auto Geek to let us in on his collection and one of the episodes focuses on his 2006 Ford GT.
Cena’s show is more like Jay Leno’s Garage on steroids, quite literally, given the burly, musclebound form of the host. But it’s refreshing to see the man who sends chills down the spine of many wrestlers in the WWE arena, getting all smitten by his car.
Cena has owned the car since 2006 and the odometer reading is 1,250 miles now. This is definitely not his daily driver and he kind of makes a mention of that as well on him driving the GT being a rare occurrence.
Cena’s example comes with all but one option from that barely-there options list which Ford had back in 2006 for the GT. It does have the forged alloy wheels, red brake calipers and the McIntosh Sound System. But the racing stripes and lettering have been given a pass. John Cena likes his GT that way.
John Cena doesn’t like being called the “Marky Mark of the WWE”. We always thought of him as the “Matt Damon of the WWE”. How about that?
The supercharged 5.4-liter V8 is still good enough to churn out 550 hp and by Cena’s reactions in the video, he seems to be extremely happy about his Ford GT. He has a keen interest in the new 2017 Ford GT too and has been generous enough to give away a lot of “I know that you know” clues to the fact that he may be getting one soon. Watch out Jay Leno!
