The Who’s Roger Daltrey worked with Rolls Royce to create a couple of special, one-off Rolls Royce Wraiths. These two cars among the nine collectors’ edition Wraith coupes to be made as part of the brand’s “Inspired by British Music” initiative.

You know the man and his music. Even if you are not a follower of The Who, you’d have heard the track in all its glory during the opening credits of the once-popular CSI: Miami. Hmm… brings back memories of David Caruso and his idea of exiting a frame. Anyway, Roger Daltrey of The Who is part of Rolls Royce’s “Inspired by British Music” initiative which will see the carmaker creating nine special Wraith coupes with inputs from some of the biggest names in British music.

This Rolls Royce Wraith is a celebration of The Who’s frontman and his music. But most of the enhancements are inside the car with its interior receiving a lot of references and cues to the legend’s music.

The Rolls-Royce clock has The Who’s bulls-eye logo now. There is also a laser-etched depiction of Daltrey’s iconic microphone swing move. “Inspired by British Music” has been engraved on the side sills. The headrests have got Daltery’s signature embroidered on it. And the interior door panels have lines from the songs, “Join Together” and “I Can See for Miles” engraved on them.

Overall, this Wraith special edition is a remarkable tribute to The Who and Roger Daltrey. However, he won’t be getting the car as the plan is to sell it off with a portion of the sum accumulated from the sale to be directed to support a bunch of charities. The chief one being The Teenage Cancer Trust.

Roger Daltrey paid a proper tribute to “Tommy” with the second Rolls Royce Wraith. The art work on the hood is nothing short of perfection.

Roger Daltrey got so much attached to the project that he commissioned a second car too. While the first one features iconography and references to his own music, the second one celebrates “Tommy” – one of The Who’s most revered works. Artist Mike McInnerney, who had created album artwork worked closely with Rolls Royce artisans to recreate a proper tribute to that original cover design on the hood of this bespoke Rolls Royce Wraith.
