Top Gear’s “Reasonably Priced Car” Kia Cee’d Is For Sale On EBay
EBay tends to be the go-to destination to find some of the oddest and most intriguing pieces of car memorabilia in the world. Look what we found there! It’s the Kia Cee’d from the old season of Top Gear!
The Kia Cee’d is not going to be added to any Top 5 car lists on the BuzzFeed. The “Cee Apostrophe D” a bland Korean hatchback which had just one shot at fame. It was the car used in the “Star in a Reasonably Priced Car” segment for 5 seasons of the old Top Gear. Remember those times? When Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May anchored what was beyond doubt, the best car show on the planet?
The old seasons of Top Gear with those three lead hosts at the helm is something which is still lingering on in the memories of almost everyone who loves car shows. Anyway, returning from memory lane, one of the four Kia Cee’d hatchbacks which was used for filming the “Star in a Reasonably Priced Car” segment of the BBC show is now on eBay.
Now, we aren’t sure if this is the same car which was driven by the top 3 celebrities who were on that leaderboard, back in the good old days. Matt LeBlanc was the fastest, Rowan Atkinson came in second and Michael Fassbender wrapped up the podium positions by finishing third in lap times.
Are you a die-hard fan of the old Top Gear? This Kia Cee’d can be the perfect memorabilia to bring home. It’s driver’s seat has seen quite a lot of celebrity behinds.
Since it had to serve the role of a car which had to be driven around a track with some famous name in the driver seat, the Kia Cee’d was kitted up with racing seats, harness and a roll-cage. All of that is still there in it, along with all the safety and luxury features of the standard production model. The car’s odometer reading in 7,150 miles which is not bad for a car which was built in 2010.

The car is listed with only one previous owner and that being Kia Motors Press. The current owner says that he bought the car from a Kia dealer, when the Cee’d had only 3000 miles on the clock. We wonder how the media car with a TV show history reached the dealer in question and that too for sale. Well, that’s a case for another day.
Strangely, the buyer interest levels don’t seem to be that high for this piece of car show history. There has been a total of 26 bids at the time of writing this post and the reserve price has not been met yet. The current bid stands at £3,354 which is much lower than the price of new Kia Cee’d. And that’s a bummer, given the “celebrity-driven, plus TV car” status of the car.

The bidding will stop on 18th June 2017. Hopefully, the “Reasonably Priced Car” will fetch a reasonably high bid by then.
