That red 2006 Subaru WRX Limited from Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver has been sold on eBay at $69,100. It’s one of the five cars built for the movie.

Baby Driver was the best most original action movie of this summer and the red 2006 Subaru WRX Limited shined in the spectacular opening chase scene of the Egdar Wright movie. You can watch the glorious first 6-minutes of that chase right here and be smitten by the sports sedan. You could have bought the movie car too. But now it’s too late, as the sale on eBay has concluded with the WRX fetching a neat $69,100.

Here are some of the details on the car, as provided on the eBay page. One of the five cars which were used in filming the elaborate chase scene of this summer’s surprise sleeper hit, the Subaru WRX Limited we have here, originally came in Gray.  Its all-wheel drive system was thrown out and the sedan was converted to rear-wheel drive. This change along with an upgraded rear differential was executed so that the car can pull off the powerslides and handbrake turns which were prominently featured in the opening set piece. A 2004 STI Turbo was another addition.

Built by Allpro Subaru and tuned by Doug Wilkes of DBW Motorsport, the 2006 Subaru WRX Limited has got a substantial odometer reading of 158,000 miles. That’s a lot of mileage for a movie car. But its movie prop status and being the standout car among all the vehicles that Baby (Ansel Elgort) drives in Baby Driver, the value here is determined based on the popularity and not on the miles that it has clocked.

The car has also starred in the music video, “Chase Me” by Danger Mouse, Big Boi and Run The Jewels. It was a major element of the marketing campaign run by the studio, as the red Subaru WRX Limited was present at the LA Premiere Red Carpet event.

Subaru and Sony had employed the car in the tie-in promotional campaigns too.

Only three cars remained after the filming of Baby Driver wrapped up. One of the stunt drivers purchased a piece and the eBay car is one of the two remaining. The seller still owns the last car of the lot.
