Winter Cars: 5 rides for that crazy Midwestern weather
By Andrew Hulse
During Midwestern Winters, temperatures can change in a heartbeat and prove hard on drivers who aren’t ready. Let’s take a look at some winter cars that can beat the winter blues.
So what is a car person to do in this type of climate? Buy an all-wheel Drive or 4WD SUV and drive it year round even when not needed wasting gas? Stick some snow tires on a sports car and hope? Daily front-wheel drive as I do? Do you spend a bit more and buy winter cars and summer cars, as I wish I could do?
This list does not only apply to the Midwest but anywhere that receives snow on a regular basis. All of the following vehicles should get you from A to B while avoiding the need to break out the emergency blanket because you are stuck in a ditch in the cold. When it warms up you will also be able to still have some fun.
There isn’t one single answer and while this list is fairly subjective and in no particular order, I think there is a vehicle on here that can make everyone happy.
