Subaru is celebrating its 50th Anniversary through the addition of some special edition models for each vehicle in its lineup.

Rolling out anniversary or limited edition models is something that many automakers do to commemorate a special time in their existence. What is unique about what Subaru is doing, is that they are actually producing an anniversary edition that will be available on every single vehicle in the lineup. These include the Forester, Legacy, Outback. WRX, STI, BRZ, Impreza and Crosstrek. We should mention, however, that the only exception is the Ascent – which is currently not even on sale yet.

Subaru unveiled the new models at the Chicago Auto Show earlier today.

These vehicles are distinguishable by their special paint, badging and design accents which are there to commemorate the 50 years of sales that Subaru has experienced in the United States. The Anniversary editions feature the Heritage Blue color, satin-chrome side mirrors (excludes BRZ, WRX, and STI), and celebratory emblems.

These models also come equipped with alloy wheels (excludes BRZ).  The 50th Anniversary logo can be found embroidered into the front seats and the floor mats. The bespoke black leather interior features contrasting silver stitching and silver seatbelts.

According to CNET, production numbers will be capped for the Forester, Legacy, Outback, Impreze and Crosstrek at 1,050 cars each. However, a total of 1,050 units will be shared across the BRZ, WRX and WRX STI models.

Autoweek reports that:

"“The split of models will get a little more complex based on trim levels. Models like the WRX STI will be limited to just 200 vehicles, while the BRZ will be limited to 250 vehicles. The Crosstrek will be the most plentiful model when it comes to 50th Anniversary special editions, with all 1,050 examples produced in a single trim level.”"

The special edition models will each be based on high-trim level versions of Subaru’s entire lineup. So, these vehicles will be priced more toward the higher end of their respective price ranger. For those that are interested, the 50th Anniversary Subaru models are now on sale in dealerships.
